The North American Industry Classification Systems (NAICS) code is a six-digit code that represents types of industries. The NAICS has been designed as the index for statistical reporting of all economic activities of the United States, Canada and Mexico. If you are registering to be eligible for contracts or intra-governmental transactions, you will typically be asked for your NAICS codes. Only federal bids are classified by NAICS codes. You can pull up your NAICS codes by number at the NAICS Search Page within the United States Census Bureau's web site (external link).
